Therapist

Dr. Jaz is a trauma therapist with extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Multicultural Psychology, Person-Centered Therapy, and Psychodynamic Theory. She has had the pleasure of being mentored by experts such as Dr. Thema Bryant, Dr. Lynn McFarr, and Dr. Edward Shafranske.

Dr. Jaz places client culture, identity, and individuality at the center of her work. She understands that regardless of symptom presentation, no two individuals are the same. Whether using a short-term treatment protocol or ongoing, longer-term therapy, Dr. Jaz aims to highlight the strengths and resilience that each client brings with them. With the goal of helping individuals recenter, regain their focus, and reclaim their joy, Dr. Jaz utilizes an integrative approach that forces clients to play an active role in their own healing.

She doesn’t call her time with clients “sessions,” but rather active experiences. Dr. Jaz believes that our lives are a series of active experiences and we tend to be most fulfilled when we are actively engaged in our lives. Therapy is not about “getting fixed by an expert.” Dr. Jaz aims to help her clients recognize that they hold more wisdom than they realize. They are the experts in their lives, and she takes pride in joining them on their journeys to wellness.
